Script and notes

The script

The Script workspace holds the text of the show with cues marked where they start, like a stage manager's prompt book.

  1. Paste the text or press Import text (.txt, .docx, .odt, .rtf, .md). Press Done.
  2. At the top pick a cue from the list, then click in the text on the word where it must start: the cue mark appears.
  3. The list moves on to the next cue by itself: click the word where that one starts, and so on to the end. Each cue has one mark; marking it again moves it.

During the show the script scrolls by itself and keeps the standby cue's mark centred. Click a mark: that cue goes to standby. Double-click: the mark is removed. Edit text goes back to editing; the marks stay in place.

Tip: keep the Script workspace open during the show. The standby cue's mark is yellow: when the actor reaches that word, press GO.

Rehearsal notes

In the Rehearsal notes tab type a note and press Enter: “thunder comes in late”, “refocus light 12”. Each note keeps the time and the standby cue when you wrote it, so the next day you know what it was about. Notes sent from phones land here too.

Tick a note once you've fixed it.

Log

The Log tab fills by itself during the show: every GO, fired cue, stop, panic, pause, resume, jump, error and note, with the time to the second. Use it to understand what happened (“why didn't the video start?”) and for the show report.

Download report saves the log as a text file.

Printable cue sheet

The Printable cue sheet tab lists every cue with number, name, start mode and notes. Print opens the printable version (or save it as PDF); you can also download it as a CSV table to open in Excel or Google Sheets.
