Settings, backups and installations
The Settings workspace gathers the choices that apply to the whole show.
GO
- Double-GO guard: a second GO within this time is ignored (350 ms by default). Raise it if whoever calls the GOs tends to press twice.
- Early GO: if you press GO while the previous cue still has parts to start, with Keep going those parts still start at their time; with Skip they are skipped.
- Preload the standby cue: Regia prepares the next cue's files ahead, so GO starts instantly. Leave it on.
- Numbering step: how much new cue numbers and renumbering increase by (1 = 1, 2, 3; 10 = 10, 20, 30, handy for inserting cues in between).
Panic
- Fade: how long panic takes to fade everything (2 seconds by default). A second press during the fade stops everything at once.
- Lights on panic: Stay as they are, Blackout or Work light, with its level. The work light brings every fixture to a low white: in an emergency the stage does not go dark.
Defaults for new elements
The Fade in and Fade out, the Curve, the Light look fade and the Image length new elements receive. Changing them does not affect existing elements.
Installation (museums, exhibitions)
For a show that must run by itself every day, with nobody in the booth:
- Switch Installation on and pick the days, with each day's opening and closing time.
- With Power projectors on and off, at opening Regia powers on the PJLink projectors in Connections › Network and at closing it powers them off.
- To loop the show forever, end it with an Action › Fire a cue element pointing at the first cue.
At opening Regia starts the show; at closing it stops it. The computer must stay on, with Regia open in Show mode.
Tip: for an installation, set the computer to power back on after an outage and to open the browser with Regia at startup. The Installation template has everything ready.
Backups
Regia saves on the computer at every change. In addition:
- Automatic copies on this computer: every 5 minutes, before an import, at every export, at show start and when you save yourself (Ctrl+S). The list shows when and why each copy was made; Restore brings the show back to that copy. You can always undo with Ctrl+Z.
- Export show (.regia): one file with everything, audio and video included. It's the copy to keep on a USB stick or take to another computer.
- Save online (with Regia Pro): saves the show structure to your account, without the files. See online backups lists the copies and restores them, from another computer too; files are then relinked with the pre-show check.
At the bottom you read how much space Regia uses on the computer and how much is free.
Undo and redo
Every change can be undone with Ctrl+Z and redone with Ctrl+Shift+Z (or Ctrl+Y), also with the arrows at the top. Regia remembers the last 500 changes of the open show.
