Shows and .regia files
Creating a show
On the Your shows screen press New show, type a name and pick a starting point:
| Template | What it sets up |
|---|---|
| Blank | Six tracks and one cue. Build from scratch. |
| Theatre | Acts, scenes, interval, house lights, crew stations. |
| Concert | Songs in order, lights and timed effects, LED wall. |
| Dance recital | One choreography per cue: drop the music and you are ready. |
| Installation | Starts at opening, loops, switches projectors off at closing. |
| Conference | Countdown, slides, name captions. |
The template prepares tracks, cues and settings. You can change everything later.
Opening, renaming, duplicating, deleting
- Click a show to open it. The list shows how many cues and files it holds and when you last edited it.
- To rename it, click the name at the top next to the logo, type and press Enter.
- Each show's menu lets you Duplicate, Export or Delete it. Duplicate before a big change or for a second version (a tour, a different venue).
- To go back to the list: logo menu › All shows.
The .regia file
A .regia file holds the whole show: cues, timeline, lights, mapping, settings and every file (sounds, videos, images, fonts). Use it to:
- move the show to another computer: the venue's, a colleague's, the backup laptop;
- keep a complete copy on a USB stick or external drive;
- send the show to someone.
To export: logo menu › Export show (.regia), or Settings › Backups › Export show (.regia). To import: Import on the shows screen, or drag the .regia file into Regia. The imported show appears among your shows.
Tip: before the first performance in a new venue, export the show, open it on the booth computer and run the pre-show check.
Choices that belong to the computer
Some choices are about the computer, not the show: which audio interface each output uses, which screen each projector is on, which DMX interface is plugged in. Regia remembers them per computer. When you open the show on another computer, pick interfaces and screens again; cues, timeline and mapping stay the same.
Space on the computer
Files live in the browser, in the space the computer reserves for Regia. At the bottom of the shows list you see how much space you use and how much is free. When you delete a show, Regia also deletes the files only that show used.
Warning: if the disk fills up, the browser may delete site data. The pre-show check offers to Allow Regia to keep its files for good: accept.
Backups
Besides continuous saving, Regia keeps automatic copies on the computer (every 5 minutes, before an import, at show start) and, with Regia Pro, an online copy of the structure. See Settings, backups and installations.
